1. 概要 / Outline

2013年10月15日現地時間午前08時12分頃（日本時間午前09時12分頃）、フィリピン中部のボホル島でマグニチュード（Mw）7.2の地震が発生しました。この地震は逆断層型のメカニズムであり、深さは約 10 km に決まりました。現地ではこの地震による被害が発生しており、多数の死傷者がでている模様です。(2013/10/17現在死者156人)。

The 15 October 2013 (Local time 08:12, JST 09:12), a magnitude (Mw) 7.2 earthquake occurred in the Bohol island, central Philippines. The earthquake had a reverse fault mechanism and occurred at a depth of 10 km. This earthquake produced a big damage and 156 casualties to date (2013/10/17).

2. 地震の特徴 / Characteristics of the earthquake

フィリピンとインドネシアの広帯域地震観測網のデータ用いて、SWIFT（Nakano et al., 2008）を用いた震源の波形インバージョン解析を行いました。その結果、ボホール島の西部の深さ10kmに、逆断層のメカニズムが推定されました（図１）。

Using data of the Philippines broadband seismic network as well as SWIFT (Nakano et. al. 2008), we calculated the centroid moment tensor inversion of the earthquake. Our results show that the earthquake was located at the west side of the Bohol island at a depth of 10 km, and had a reverse mechanism (Fig. 1).

ボホール島地震の本震及び余震のメカニズムと震央位置を赤と青で図２に表示します。本震と余震が東北東―西南西方向に分布していることが分かります。2012年2月6日には今回の地震から西北西60kmのネグロス島付近にマグニチュード（Mw）6.7の地震が発生しています。

In figure 2 we show the CMT solutions for the Bohol earthquake and its aftershocks. We may observe that aftershocks are approximately aligned in a SWW to NEE direction. They also show reverse mechanisms, as well as a cluster of strike-slip mechanisms at the eastern end of the aftershock alignment.
